This recipe only needs about 1/2 cup of grass jelly to make a tall cup. If you have a can of grass jelly, you can make several servings, serve them in a party bowl, or keep leftover grass jelly in the refrigerator. Double the ingredients as needed.
Plain grass jelly iced coffee with brown sugar
- 1/2 cup herbal jelly
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 tablespoon condensed milk
- 1/2 cup milk
- ice
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Vegan herbal jelly, brown sugar iced coffee
- 1/2 cup herbal jelly
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup plant milk or coconut milk
- ice
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

- Heat-safe glass or measuring cup
- A beaker, bowl, or microwave to heat water

- Storage containers or plastic wrap to refrigerate additional ingredients if necessary

- Heat the water and add a nice scoop of instant Vietnamese coffee or instant Colombian coffee. The bolder, the better.
- Add brown sugar. Stir well until the brown sugar and instant coffee are completely dissolved. If you are preparing the non-vegetarian version that contains condensed milk, add the condensed milk as well during this step.
- Stir well and add vanilla extract and a sprinkle of cinnamon if you like.
- Let the mixture cool.
- Add the mixture to a tall serving glass and add ice, but leave room for the grass jelly and milk.
- Add lots of grass jelly cubes or cute little shapes.
- Finally, add the milk of your choice. Enjoy!
